Hey, hot stuff! I’m Nisha, and welcome to RainbowPlantLife. I’m a food-loving, travel-loving lawyer-turned-foodie living in Brooklyn, New York.
My foray into blogging originated with my career as a lawyer. I practiced corporate law and after two unhappy years, I quit in August 2014 to backpack around the world for six months with my partner (partner = bae, not a law firm partner - that would've been super scandalous tho).
It was the best decision of my life, and it opened my eyes to the importance of living my life with adventure, laughter, and authenticity. I started a little travel blog during my time abroad and realized that I enjoyed freeform blog rambling--part poetry, part satire, part stream of consciousness--much more than dry legal writing, always punctuated by therefores and secondlys and always bereft of personality.
After my travels, I began practicing nonprofit law but remained unhappy professionally, which made personal fulfillment all the more important to me. I started my next blog, the Laws of Bliss in the spring of 2016 order to document my pursuit of practices, routines and ideas that could make me happy(ier) and healthy(ier). This involved treating my body with care and self-love, getting plenty of sleep, being grateful for everything and everyone in my life, meditating, staying organized, being kind, staying active, cultivating a childlike sense of wonder, and laughing a lot. And making really delicious food and sharing it with others.
I'm starting my new blog RainbowPlantLife as a continuation of the Laws of Bliss but with a greater focus on photography and vegan recipes, which have become my passion over the last year and a half. Of course, if you find the health and happiness tips useful, let me know in the comments and I would love to share more with you.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you find something that tickles your fancy here. And don't forget to subscribe if you haven't done so already! If you're having trouble subscribing, just email me at email@example.com and I can help you out!
